Alert events
Streaming alerts are generated when an implemented price, volume, relative-volume, VWAP, breakout, news, or halt condition qualifies. A symbol may appear again when another supported event occurs.
Ticker alerts can evaluate up to eight conditions with all must match logic. One event detector can be combined with metric filters, so a new-high event can also require a minimum price, volume, or relative-volume value. Event thresholds are available for one-minute price moves, one-minute volume spikes, and relative-volume crosses.
The metric catalog includes last price; net, gap, session, and one-minute price changes; distance from the day high, day low, premarket high, and VWAP; current, average, premarket, one-minute, five-minute, dollar, and relative volume; one-minute volume ratio; float turnover; spread; public float; market cap; shares outstanding; ATR and ATR percent; bid and ask size; bid/ask size ratio; and dollar and percentage day range. These values are calculated or hydrated by the authoritative Rust market engine. If a required provider reference or time-of-day baseline is unavailable, the condition does not match.
Alerts may be delayed, duplicated, incomplete, unavailable, or incorrect. Delivery depends on provider data, plan, licensing, connection health, browser permissions, notification settings, and service status.
How to read a live-alert table
Unlike a ranked scanner, a live-alert table is an append-only event history. The same symbol can appear more than once because each row records a distinct qualification or a supported repeat after cooldown or rearm logic.
Read the columns in four groups:
- When and what: Time, Symbol, and Event identify the provider market timestamp and the condition that qualified. Compare the displayed timezone with the active session.
- Move and participation: Price, Chg %, Gap %, RVOL, and Volume describe the measured state when the row was recorded. These values are evidence at the event time, not a promised current quote.
- Supply and tradability context: Float, Float turn, and Spread help frame supply, activity, and available quote width when the provider fields exist. A dash means unavailable.
- Repeat context: Hit # counts qualifying presentations for that symbol and event within the retained history. Since prev shows elapsed time from the prior retained hit. Use both with the scanner's repeat and cooldown settings.
Clicking a row links its symbol to workspace charts. Opening the ticker provides current chart, news, filing, offering, halt, and data-status context; it does not rewrite the original event timestamp.
Explain alerts with Agent
Open the Agent sidebar from the Alerts page or use Explain with Agent on a supported event. A bounded request can compare recent timestamps, repeated hits, relative volume, float turnover, and missing catalyst data:
Explain the five newest alert rows. Separate first hits from repeats,
compare RVOL and float turnover, and flag stale or unavailable fields. The Agent summarizes deterministic alert evidence. It does not activate, edit, or delete the alert and does not recommend a trade.
Create a ticker alert
Open Alerts → Create Alert to attach a persistent condition to one known ticker. Add up to eight conditions; all configured conditions must match. Select in-app, browser, and sound delivery independently, then add an optional expiration or note before activation.
The review line summarizes the ticker, metric, operator, target, and delivery channels before anything is saved. Creating an alert does not place, route, or manage an order.
Scanner settings
Open an alert scanner’s options to configure retention, repeat rules, columns, cooldowns, notifications, alert sound, and ticker speech. Eligibility remains controlled by the scanner’s implemented filters. When ticker speech is enabled, a symbol such as TSLA is pronounced letter by letter.
Time-zone settings default to the current device time zone. TraderBase stores source timestamps consistently and converts them for display; scanner headers and rows identify the active zone where space permits.
- 1The mode badge distinguishes timestamped live alerts from ranked current-state lists.
- 2Retained alert history is bounded by a configurable row limit.
- 3The repeat rule defines which subsequent qualifying events can be shown.
- 4Cooldown and custom cooldown values reduce noisy repeated presentation.
- 1Audio output can use a tone, spoken ticker, or both.
- 2Voice rate, pitch, and optional alert-name speech remain user controlled.
- 3Throttle and concurrency limits bound alert bursts.
- 4Browser notifications require an explicit setting and browser permission.
Data status
Free market data is delayed by 15 minutes. Gold includes real-time data. Connection and recency indicators show the current stream state.
